"COME TO ME, ALL YOU WHO LABOR AND ARE BURDENED, AND I WILL GIVE YOU REST"

Dear Families:

What a beautiful invitation from Jesus!  This passage is worth reading over and over and memorizing so that it can easily be reflected upon during those more difficult moments in life.  We all have those moments.  The moments when we feel overwhelmed and burdened.  It could be we are burdened by some tragedy in life, or it could be we are burdened by the small and monotonous aspects of life.  One of the greatest daily burdens is that of our own sin.  But whatever the case may be, Jesus wants us to hear and believe these words.  “Come to me…” He says.  Come to me no matter what is going on in your life.  Come to me without hesitation and without fear.

Jesus also promises us that His “yoke is easy” and His “burden is light.”  What does that mean?  Does it mean that coming to Jesus will remove all hardship from our lives?  No, not really.  What it means is that coming to Jesus and meeting him at the Holy Eucharist, will enable us to endure and walk through any hardship we encounter in life.

Reflect, today, upon this gentle and glorious invitation from Jesus.  Let Him enter into whatever it is that burdens you.  Let Him carry the yoke that you carry and give you, instead, the gentle yoke He has prepared for you.  The cross you bear may not go away, but it will be transformed and made light in His grace.

"VENGAN A MÍ TODOS USTEDES QUE ESTÁN CANSADOS Y AGOBIADOS, Y YO LES DARÉ DESCANSO"

Queridas familias:

¡Qué hermosa invitación nos hace Jesús! Vale la pena leer este pasaje una y otra vez, y memorizarlo, para poder reflexionar sobre él fácilmente en los momentos más difíciles de la vida. Todos tenemos esos momentos: aquellos en los que nos sentimos abrumados y agobiados. Puede que el peso provenga de alguna tragedia vital, o bien de los aspectos pequeños y monótonos de la existencia. Una de las mayores cargas cotidianas es nuestro propio pecado. Pero, sea cual sea la situación, Jesús quiere que escuchemos y creamos estas palabras. «Vengan a mí...», nos dice. Vengan a mí sin importar lo que esté sucediendo en sus vidas. Vengan a mí sin vacilaciones y sin miedo.

Jesús también nos promete que su «yugo es suave» y su «carga es ligera». ¿Qué significa esto? ¿Acaso significa que acudir a Jesús eliminará todas las dificultades de nuestra vida? No, en realidad no. Lo que significa es que acudir a Jesús y encontrarnos con Él en la Santa Eucaristía nos dará la fortaleza para soportar y atravesar cualquier adversidad que encontremos en el camino.

Reflexiona hoy sobre esta invitación tan tierna y gloriosa de Jesús. Permítele entrar en aquello que te agobia. Deja que Él cargue con el yugo que tú llevas y te entregue, a cambio, el yugo suave que ha preparado para ti. Puede que la cruz que cargas no desaparezca, pero se transformará y se volverá ligera gracias a su gracia.
